Dare Day 2

Dare To Make A Choice

Today we talked about Legal and Illegal (Illicit) drugs. The difference between legal and illegal drugs is that legal drugs have been prescribed by the doctor and illegal ones haven’t. Constable Kendrick came and gave us all piece of laminated paper saying the name of a drug, mine was cigarettes. Constable Kendrick then went and put 3 headings up on the active whiteboard reading Legal, Unsure and Illegal. We then had to go and put our piece of paper under one of the headings. Mine went under legal. We had some unsure people, but we as a class got lots right. After that Constable gave half of the class another piece of paper reading an illegal drugs name for example Cocaine, Party Pills, Marijuana, Cannabis oil and lots more. She then put up 3 more headings up, reading Least Harmful (class C), Harmful (class B), and Most Harmful (class A), which the people with a pieces of paper had to go and stand under the heading they thought was most appropriate to the drug name they held in their name. We then had a discussion that went like this: “Do you think that all the classes should have the same consequences” Asked Constable Kendrick. We each had a go to answer. I said “I think that there should be different consequences for if you have taken the drug or if you have sold or grown the drug”. I was pretty close, so Constable Kendrick read us the drug consequences page from the latest law book. I am really enjoy learning about the dangers of drugs.
